Guestii vs POSH

POSH is an events and ticketing platform with a strong social and discovery angle, popular with independent party promoters. Guestii is the software a venue runs its whole night on, with ticketing included. If you are choosing between them, you are usually deciding whether you need an audience or an operating system.

The short answer

POSH's all-in fee works out at roughly 9% plus $0.93 a ticket, which is about $3.63 on a $30 ticket. Guestii's flat 50c plus about 2.0% Square processing is $1.10 on the same ticket. As with any percentage model, the gap widens as your prices rise.

The bigger difference is scope, and not where you would expect. POSH does run a door: QR scanning from any phone on a shared PIN, a private guestlist with plus-ones, and card payments at the entrance. What it has no equivalent for is a minimum spend tracked per table through the night, or bar spend tied back to the guest who drank it.

Money also moves differently. Guestii payments settle into your own Square account the next business day, so the platform never holds your takings. POSH holds the balance and clears a standard payout in two to three business days, or instantly for a 5% fee.

Same ticket.
Different fee at checkout.

Both platforms add the fee at checkout, so this is money out of your guest's pocket rather than yours. A cheaper checkout sells through faster.

POSH does not publish a rate card, so this is reverse-engineered from their ticket builder (a $30 display price grosses $26.37, implying a $3.63 fee), which fits a ~9% + $0.93 all-in model. Rates checked August 2026. Guestii figures use 50c flat plus Square processing at our negotiated rate of 2.0% online; Square's published Australian rate is 2.2%, so your own rate may differ. Run your own ticket price and volume through the pricing calculator.

When POSH is the better choice

  • You are a promoter without a venue. POSH is built for the person throwing the party rather than the business running the room. If you have no door to operate, most of Guestii would sit unused.
  • You want consumer discovery and social features. POSH puts your event in front of an audience and leans on social mechanics to spread it. Guestii has no marketplace and will not find you strangers.
  • Your market is not on Square. Guestii processes card payments through Square, so it is available where Square operates. Outside those markets it cannot take your payments.
  • You run occasional one-off events. For a few parties a year, a ticketing platform is less to set up than a full operations system, and the fee difference will not justify the change.

Moving across
takes days, not weeks.

STEP 1

Bring your data

Export your guest database and promoter roster to CSV and import both. Your history comes with you rather than starting from zero.

STEP 2

Connect Square

Link your own Square account in a few clicks, or we set one up. Payments settle into your account, in your venue's name, the next business day.

STEP 3

Run one night

Put a single event through Guestii before you move the whole calendar. Scanner, walk-ins, promoter attribution and settlement, all on one night.

What operators ask
before they switch.

What does Guestii charge compared to POSH?

Guestii charges a flat 50c per paid entry plus Square processing of about 2.0% online, so a $30 ticket carries $1.10 in fees. POSH does not publish a rate card, but their ticket builder implies an all-in fee of roughly 9% plus $0.93, which is about $3.63 on the same ticket. Both fees are added at checkout and paid by the buyer, and Guestii has no subscription, no per-seat fee and no charge on free or comp guestlist entries.

Does Guestii replace a ticketing platform entirely?

For a venue, yes. Guestii includes full online ticketing: multiple ticket types per event, hard caps, timed releases, waitlists, access codes, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and an Apple or Google Wallet pass issued on purchase. What it does not include is a consumer marketplace, because tickets sell from your own page rather than a public discovery feed.

Can promoters still run their own lists and get paid?

Yes. Each promoter gets their own login and a public profile at gst.li/name, with a live guest count and an earnings tracker that moves with the door. Hosts run teams of promoters, invite and remove members, and earn their own commissions. Settled commissions pay out as a bulk-pay bank file from your own account, with a Xero sync for the books.

How quickly does the money reach us?

The next business day. Payments run through Square into your own Square account, registered in your venue's name, rather than sitting with the platform. Guestii never holds the funds and cannot freeze a payout.
